“I have never found a companion that was so companionable as solitude.” -Thoreau
This series has been making me compare privacy and publicity, how solitude changes us. Its funny how when words are put together sometimes they mean nothing, and then because of timing or intention the most simple of words can mean everything.
How are you different when your alone?
At first glance this looks like such an easy question. But, then when I look at it, the difficulty, the complexity of it sets in.
think this is one part of what falling in love is, catching someone in that privacy, seeing them there in moments when they forget to hold the veil up that is so instinctual when others around. The curtain falls and you see glimpses. Their faces change, the things they say mean more, you get a peek into what it must be like to see this world like they do.
I don't know if it is actually possible to catch my clients in these moments yet, sometimes I think I do, but then it falls away and I am not sure.
Either way I am in love with this.
