the great sand dunes of colorado

When your a kid and something like this comes into view it makes an impression. The vastness and the decluttering effect it has on the mind. I have memories from when I was child that I am sure are different than the reality of them. They might be bigger or more colorful, more dramatic then what I would see now, but that is what little and un-tainted minds do, they see the bigness in it all, because it is big. Everything is big, especially before we add comparison to it, before everything becomes relative.

To see a place like this with two of my siblings was refreshing. I tried to imagine being 10 years old and seeing something like this and it kind of worked. The unworldly nature of it really sunk in, it wasn't hard being at a place like this. You feel like you are on a different planet really.

If you have a chance to go here, do it.
