This October Dustin and I went over to the UK and Ireland. When we got married 3 years ago our dream honeymoon would have been to road trip Ireland and Scotland. So, when sweet Becky asked us to go to Scotland to photograph her wedding we figured we could finally take this trip we had been wanting to go on for so long! In the mean time my brother moved to London to go to grad school so I was able to spend some time with him there as well, which was lovely!
Here is a little something I posted on instagram that I feel makes sense to post with these photos: "In an effort toward transparency I wanted to say a few things. Social media is confusing. We like to post the beautiful parts and tend to leave out the rest. I love how posting and looking for the beauty in my life reminds me that it is there and I also want to stay connected to the not so beautiful parts because I think that is where growth lives. I am a few days from going home after traveling for about a month. While I am so lucky to have seen so many beautiful places and met so many lovely people I wanted to also acknowledge the "other side" of traveling and living my dream. For the first 3 days of our UK/Ireland trip there was a lot of grumpiness, stressing about money, and anxiety about driving on the other side of the road. We will be paying this trip off for probably the next year. Living out of a suite case means everything smells like your shoes. We didn't eat anything green for about a week. My hair was pretty much one big dread yesterday. I ate ALOT of bread and consequentially felt like shit. I have literally no complaints, just wanted to share some reality:) With all that said I 100% support you going into debt, fighting with your partners, and stressing a bit if that means you get to make memories like we did these last two weeks."
If you can, travel.
